THE MOON

I love the moon in all its phases, and the beauty of its contrast with the sky and darkening land and sea.  Each painting I did is from a different special place that has deep meaning to me.

MOONSTRUCK

The moon has me by the hand again.

If I were a sea I would lay myself down for her.

If I were the sun I would gaze upon her all alight in my flame.

If I were the world, I would turn, turn so slowly, holding her face in my view.

And would seek to banish the burning flame we each orbit, and live for the day my shadow falls across her cheek, though she ventures out far from me.

Yes, the moon has me by the heart again. That I am a piece of stardust remembering a collision.

I am an earth drawing into the field of its gravity everything loved.

I am a sea feeling the eternal pull of my body.

Yes, the moon has me held affixed again, as she hangs at a distance all soft roundness and pink cheeks, reflecting a myriad of sunsets.

And I am just a person looking up, unseen and moonstruck.
